Pacio do Sil Cabecera

Pacio do Sil

This house was an old farmhouse that began to be restored at the end of 2006. The exact age of it is not known, because throughout history it has undergone numerous modifications of which there has been no record in the records of the town hall. Although the exact date of construction is not known, if an approximation could be made, due to the discovery between one of the stone walls, during the restoration of the building, of some copper coins minted in 1743, and that may give a idea.

During the restoration of the building, the rural essence of the house was taken into account so as not to lose it. Thus, the building’s own characteristics were maintained, such as the Roman oven located in the dining room, the old caniceira (chestnut dryer) of the house.

The rooms are located in what were once haystacks and stables. In addition, the house has an organic garden and gardens that the farm owned. Likewise, the entire complex is surrounded by a slate wall (typical of the area) that brings tranquility and a homey touch to the property.
